9/11 had a profound impact on me and changed the course of my professional pursuits. As I sat in a computer science class at a community college, I heard story after heart-wrenching story of those saying goodbye to loved ones from hijacked planes that were being used as weapons on our own soil. In the aftermath there was unity among Americans and flags were flown everywhere. Young men and women answered the call to serve in the military and I chose to start taking art classes in the spring semester of 2002.
Desiring to honor the bravery and self-sacrifice of those who have served, I began creating large-scale portraits.
The collection contained here spans from 2005 to the present. From the Civil War through the Gulf war
